Brexit – the thriller writer’s nightmare

Everything was going fine – since the launch/signing session, sales of “Under Current” had settled down to a steady but encouraging level, work progressing nicely on the prequel, working title “Eminences Grises”, then, out of the blue, the Leavers win the bl**dy EU referendum and everything hits the fan.

Problem: “Under Current” is set “a few years from now”, so I didn’t have to be too precise about what was going on in the world at that time.  But, “Eminences Grises”, I remind you, is a prequel, i.e. set round about now, in the UK.  It’s about vested interests plotting to seize power.  Do I have to say more?

Sorry, must go now. Rather a lot of (re)writing to do.  Do you suppose Johnson and Gove have any idea how much trouble they’ve caused?
